Our licensed psychologists write medically rigorous, legally sound nexus letters that establish the connection between your military service and your mental health condition โ giving you the strongest possible shot at the VA benefits you've earned.
A nexus letter is a formal medical opinion written by a licensed clinician that establishes the connection โ the "nexus" โ between your current diagnosed condition and your military service.
The VA requires this connection to grant service-connected disability benefits. Without a strong nexus letter, even legitimate claims are routinely denied โ not because the condition isn't real, but because the medical link wasn't adequately documented.
A well-written nexus letter from a licensed psychologist addresses all three criteria the VA uses to evaluate the service connection, and cites current medical and scientific literature to support the opinion.
Start With a Free Consult โWe write nexus letters for a wide range of mental health conditions that can be connected to military service.
Our nexus letters aren't templates. Each is individually researched and written for your specific service history, diagnosis, and claim situation.
We review your service records (DD-214, STRs, buddy statements), existing medical records, and any prior VA rating decisions before writing a single word.
A 60-minute video interview with your psychologist to document your symptom history, service experiences, and the timeline connecting service to diagnosis.
We cite current, peer-reviewed scientific research establishing the link between your type of service exposure and your condition โ this is what sets our letters apart from generic templates.
The letter follows VA formatting standards, states the nexus opinion in legally required language, includes the psychologist's licensure information, and is signed under penalty of perjury.
If the VA requests a clarification, response to a denial, or additional opinion statement, we provide one free revision within 90 days of the original letter delivery.
Standard delivery: 5โ7 business days after your clinical interview. Rush delivery (2โ3 business days) available for an additional fee. We know your claim can't wait.
We know the VA process can feel overwhelming, bureaucratic, and discouraging โ especially after a denial. Our team has helped hundreds of veterans navigate this system and get the ratings they deserve.
We approach every nexus letter with the same rigor we bring to our clinical evaluations: thorough, evidence-based, and built to withstand scrutiny. We're not a document mill. We're licensed psychologists who take your claim personally.

Yes โ in fact, this is one of the most common reasons veterans come to us. If your claim was denied because the VA said there wasn't sufficient evidence of a service connection, a strong nexus letter can be submitted as new and relevant evidence for a supplemental claim or Board of Veterans' Appeals appeal. Many veterans have had denied claims reversed after submitting our letters.
No. The VA accepts nexus letters from any licensed independent medical professional, including licensed psychologists in private practice. The letter's credibility comes from the clinician's credentials, the thoroughness of the review, the quality of the medical opinion, and the citation of relevant literature โ not their employment status.
The VA may conduct its own C&P exam, but they cannot simply ignore a well-written independent nexus letter. Per the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, the VA must give appropriate weight to independent medical evidence. A thorough, well-cited letter from a licensed psychologist significantly strengthens your position and is much harder to dismiss than a generic template letter.
We can still work with what you have. A buddy statement, a personal statement, and partial records are often sufficient for the clinical interview. We can note the unavailability of records in the letter and explain how we reached our opinion based on available evidence. We'll guide you through the record request process if you want to pursue obtaining missing documents before submitting.
